Group locks are the middle level in a locking system, below central locks and above individual locks. Group locks can also have subordinate or superior relationships to other group locks in the locking system.

Possible Group Lock Relationships in Locking System Hierarchy

Keys you assign to a group lock can open all of the individual locks in the group. This makes them ideal for keys you want to open locks in an area or certain areas of your facility but not all locks in the locking system.

Individual locks in a group all have a subordinate hierarchical relationship to the same group lock.

Details Page

Every group lock in a locking system has its own details page that stores its properties and documents its hierarchical relationships to other locks. You can access a group lock's details page by double-clicking a group lock in the Group Locks section on its locking system's details page.
