User Interface

The web-based user interface consists of different windows that can be freely configured in terms of their arrangement.

In the delivery state, the windows are arranged as shown in the picture below. Thus, it is only used to display and explain the individual window components and their designations.

An action menu belonging to a function VN_Bt_ThreeDots is described according to the delivery status. If required, it can be configured individually via the App.JSON.

Side panel (1)

When the application is launched, the left side panel contains tabs that provide access to the following components:

Start Page	Quick access to the frequently used function •Identify and the central components of this solution •Find Network Diagram •Show Associations •Trace This area can be customized.
Layer	Overview of all available layers in the project with the following functions: •Add layers from a collection from the portal, a CSV/XLSX file, or a shapefile to the project •Control of the sequence, visibility as well as the transparency of layers on the map •Layer slider to compare layers directly in the map •Zoom functions to full extent or visible scale of the layer, switch labels on or off, edit style of layers
Legend	Show symbols of objects included in the current map extent
Results	As soon as results of a search or query are available, they will be displayed here. The results can be displayed individually, grouped or with different line spacing. Refine opens a filter option to control the display of the results in a more differentiated way. A result-dependent action menu opens up a variety of further functions depending on the displayed layers, e.g. •Zoom to results •Highlight results on the map •Switch to table view with numerous function, configuration and filter options •Export to CSV, XLSX, Shapefile •Remove results
If, for example, the following functions are used, another tab is opened in each case for the application of this function: Associations, Query Builder

In case you need more space, the left side panel can be minimized, maximized or undocked using the buttons in the upper right corner.

Central components of the Network Explorer (2)

The Home tab can be used to quickly access central components of the Network Explorer for example:

• VN_Bt_FindDiagram Find Network Diagram

• VN_Bt_Associations_Viewer Show Associations

• VN_Bt_Trace Trace

Alternatively, these functions can be executed via the toolbar > Analyze tab.

In addition, other frequently used functions have been placed here:

• VN_Bt_Identify Identify

Alternatively, this function can be executed via the Quick Access.

This area can be customized.

Tool groups (3) and Toolbars (4)

The Select, Analyze, Draw and Share tabs are used to access the central components of Network Explorer . Each of those tabs have their own toolbars.

Additional functions can be configured from VertiGIS Studio taking into account the licensing conditions.

Tool group	Button	Description
Selection		Query Builder VertiGIS Studio query tool with which queries can be executed on a layer according to specific features using search and filter functions.
		Geometric shapes can be used to perform feature selection: •Rectangle •Polyline •Polygon In addition, point buffers and line buffers and setting options are available. An existing selection can also be reset via Clear selection. Results are displayed in the tab on the left side panel.
Analyze		Trace Analyze the network using a network trace. The options available here are Connected, Upstream, Downstream, Isolation, Shortest Path and Subnetwork.
		Find Network Diagram Search for a saved network diagram.
		Associations Show association between network features that are non-spatial and non-coincident
		Subnetworks Display subnetworks to ensure that attributes, network features and connectivity in a network are up-to-date and valid.
Draw		Markup This tool group provides drawing in the map with the following geometric shapes: •Point •Line •Polygon Activate or deactivate snapping using the Snapping toolbar on the map. The color, shape and thickness of the line or polygon can be adjusted using the style buttons. The Edit Markup button can also be used to subsequently change the object's style, size or rotation. The editing can be undone, retried or deleted. Markups are not associated with a geodatabase version.
		Hints Free text as well as possibly offered meta-data (e.g. coordinates) can be placed and edited in the map via coordinates input or by selecting a location in the map. The Add Location Note is also available in the quick access via the right mouse button in the map. Hints are not associated with a geodatabase version.
		Measure Measure length and area and select measurement system and units. Activate or deactivate snapping using the Snapping toolbar on the map.
		Clear Drawings All objects drawn in the map will be cleared.
Share		Sharing link A window opens with a generated link that can be shared. Passing on the project is done without markups and notes.
		Save Project The project including markups, notes and selection (result list) is saved as JSON file in the download folder.
		Load Project A project file (JSON) including all content (also markups, notes, selected features) can be loaded.

Map Window (5)

Spatial information is visualized in the map window. Here you can navigate and use all available functions from the toolbar, so all layers in the project can be displayed, compared, analyzed, selected, evaluated, markups and notes that can be added.

In addition to zooming via the plus/minus key or optionally with the mouse wheel, the following efficient navigation functions are available:

• VN_Bt_Coordinates Coordinate position: Navigation to a position desired by coordinate input, which is the center of the section.

• VN_Bt_Bookmark Bookmarks: Bookmarks to different sections can be created, applied or deleted.

• VN_Bt_InitialExtent Home Extent: Navigation to a predefined section.

A right mouse click in the map opens a context menu for quick access to the information of the selected position (green marker) and functions that can be performed on it:

•Display mouse pointer coordinates

•Show address of the marker position

• VN_Bt_Identify Identify - Show attribute data of all features at the marker position

• VN_SelectFeature Select - Select feature(s) at the marker position

• VN_AddPositionHint Add Location Note

Status bar (6)

The status bar can be configured as requested. In the solution, the following is displayed by default:

•Scale selection from a scale series generated from the map as well as the possibilities of free scale input

• VN_Bt_UserSettings User settings for the selection of

▪Compact view

▪Design of the application (light, dark)

▪Measurement system (automatic, metric, U.S. Customary System)

▪Search History - Clear History

▪Language of the solution (English, German)

• VN_Bt_UserInformation User information as well as the possibility to sign out. For a fast, efficient workflow, a link refers to keyboard shortcuts.

Quick access (7)

Frequently used functions are additionally offered in the upper right area for quick access. These are:

•Search for...
The search can be used to look for addresses or material for assets, for example.

• VN_Bt_Map_Back Previous map view
Return to previous map position and zoom level.

• VN_Bt_Map_Forward Next map view
Go to next map position and zoom level.

• VN_Bt_Identify Identify
Objects and their attributes can be identified and displayed.

• VN_Bt_Delete-All Reset All
All result windows (e.g. Results tab, Charts, Tables) will be closed and the map view (e.g. Drawings, Notes) will be reset.

• VN_Bt_Print Printing
Using this function, print templates and scale can be selected, the print area can be rotated, the print area can be brought back into orientation via north arrow, map title and author can be specified.

The rotation of the print area can be done either by entering an angle or by using the right mouse button.

The form for entering print parameters depends on the print template available in the project.

• VN_Bt_Basemap Basemaps
Depending on the project-specific configured selection, different base maps can be selected.
