A cross section shows how contained assets are arranged inside a structure line, such as a trench. It represents the real-world arrangement in a generalized grid view and can also be displayed, labeled, and printed on the map.

To show a cross section:

1.Go to Network > Cross sections.
The Cross Sections panel opens.

2.Select one or more supported structure lines on the map.
The active structure line is highlighted, and its cross section is displayed in the panel.

If you select multiple cross sections, use the navigation bar above the cross section display to switch between them.

In the WebApp you can configure for which structure line types cross-sections are supported.

3.Review the arrangement of contained assets in the cross section grid. Select an asset on the grid to highlight it in the Content section and on the map.
If no cross-section description exists, the grid is generated from the containment associations.

Warning and error icons indicate missing or inconsistent cross-section data. Cross sections must be corrected in Networks Pro.

4.Click the Action menu for the active structure line then click Display/Update cross section to display the cross section on the map. To display all loaded cross sections, click Display all cross sections.

5.You can perform some operations on the selected cross section using the action menu next to the asset name, the following functions are available:

For a nested structure line, click the plus icon to view its contained assets in a separate grid, and click the minus icon to return to the parent cross section.
