A rental unit's status is determined by the rental agreement assigned to it.

Rental Unit Statuses

Only one rental agreement that has a status of Complete can be assigned to a rental unit at a time.

Prerequisites

Before you can assign a rental agreement to a rental unit, ensure

•that the rental agreement's Contract Category is one that includes the rental unit data object. Refer to Link a Rental Agreement with Data Objects for more information.

•that the rental unit to which you want to assign the rental agreement has a building selected in the Building field in the rental unit details.

•that another rental agreement with a status of Complete is not already assigned to the rental unit. If another rental agreement whose status is Complete is already assigned to the rental unit, you will only be able to assign a rental unit whose status is Marked Down.

Assign a Rental Agreement to a Rental Unit

If the prerequisites outlined above are satisfied, you can assign a rental agreement to a rental unit on the rental agreement details page.

To Assign a Rental Agreement to a Rental Unit

1.Navigate to the details page for the rental agreement you want to assign to a rental unit.

2.Click the Edit () icon.

3.Click the arrow in the Type of Object menu.

4.Double-click Rental Unit, or select it and click Apply.

The rental agreement must be assigned a Contract Category that includes the rental unit data object.

5.Click the arrow in the Rental Unit menu.

6.Double-click the rental unit you want to assign the rental agreement to, or select it and click Apply. By default, the Selection: Rental Unit dialog lists the rental units in the building selected in the Building field in the rental unit details.

7.Click Save and Close.

When you complete the rental agreement assignment, the rental unit's status should update to reflect the term of the rental agreement.
