The Read Excel file Cron Job is a special type of importing data by reading excel format files.
Typically, the external systems (e.g. SAP) send a message to the VertiGIS Integrator who processes it and makes object edits in the geodatabase. For customers who maintain their data within a database table instead of transmitting it from an external system, the VertiGIS Integrator provides an integrated Cron Job that reads Excel files.
After being uploaded by the customer, the Excel file is stored in a central folder within the company network. Once stored, the VertiGIS Integrator reads the Excel file and creates new objects in the geodatabase using data from the Excel file.
