Simple objects are available for capturing data and signal cables (DataCable) and their connections (DataCablePoint).

The ‘AssetEntity’ attribute on the DataCablePoint defines whether the node is used to connect cables to each other (Sleeve function) or to connect to a device on the individual networks (ConnectionPoint). If the node acts as a connecting element to a network device, it can be linked to the device via a structural assignment.  

If data and signal cables with complex, extensive functionality are to be recorded, we recommend using the telecommunications application module.

Relationships using the example of the connection with a sensor unit of the water network:

The DataCables and DataCablePoints can be contained in buildings, manholes or other element of the sctructure, as containment association with the structure junction.
