toc_closedbookGrounding in Overhead line

Erdung_Freileitung

In overhead line construction, one or more earth wires are installed between towers or poles, for lightning protection. These GroundingConductors are suspended on GroundingClamps, which can be mounted on both the ColumnLines and the CrossArmLines of a pole or tower. In a simplified model, where not all the structural details of a tower need to be recorded, they can also be put directly in relation with the Tower or Pole point (containment association).

At the transition from the structure to the ground, another grounding clamp on the ground is connected to the grounding clamp in the pole/tower, via a junction-to-junction connection. A Grounding Conctor connects that clamp to the GroundingElectrode. An intermediate DecouplingUnit can be installed in between.

Between the pole/tower tip and the structure base point, the connection can be made via a junction-to-junction connectivity between the two grounding conductors, or the actual grounding conductor can be captured.
