Map displays and components

1.A (map display) component defines a logical grouping of 1-n layers to a topic. The component can be loaded into a new map or can added to an existing map. A component can be used in multiple map displays.

2.A map display is a grouping of 1-n components in a defined order. A map display is loaded as a map. It can also be related to one or more VertiGIS projects, in which case it will be available for loading on the start page of the corresponding VertiGIS project.

3.A user with sharing rights can define a map display or a component and share it on the portal with specific groups, with the whole company or with everyone. Before sharing, it can be checked whether the permissions for the components match those of the map display. The authoring takes place on ArcGIS Pro.

4.A user with sharing rights can edit, copy, delete map display and components. The authoring takes place on ArcGIS Pro.

5.A user can select a map display or component and load it in the application as a new map (web and desktop client). In ArcGIS Pro there are two ways to select a map display and load it as a map, either by gallery or by using a pane.

6.A user in ArcGIS Pro can add a map display or component to an existing map (ArcGIS Pro only).

Start Page

The structure of the start page has been adapted. A VertiGIS project can consist not only of an ArcGIS Pro project, but also of a web map, a map display or a combination of these elements.

Map displays that are related to a VertiGIS project are displayed on the start page after you select the VertiGIS project. The user can choose which map display should be opened as a map when loading the project. Basically, after opening ArcGIS Pro, all map displays related to the VertiGIS project are displayed as maps in the project catalog.

Reporting

The underlying reporting engine was changed to Geocortex Reporting.

Planning

A planning job can now be logically divided into different construction phases. Assets can then be assigned to each of these construction phases.

Some performance optimizations have been implemented when loading the planning structure. Assigned assets assigned to the project are now reloaded only when needed by "lazy loading".

The name of a planning job can now be transferred to a configurable attribute of the planning polygon.

It is now possible to assign Esri attachments to a planning project via the Asset Editor.

Several UI/UX improvements were implemented.

Data model

The following tables are now used for VertiGIS assignments:

oVG_ASSIGNEMENTS for the assignment definitions.

oVG_ASSIGNEMENTS_DATA for the assignment data.

All relationships of all objects are stored in VG_ASSIGNMENTS_DATA. VG_ASSIGNEMENTS_DATA contains the two objects that are related (class_id and subtype_id for source and target) and the corresponding relationship definition from VG_ASSIGNMENTS. VertiGIS assignments can be defined down to the assettype level.
