The administrator manages the VertiGIS projects using an add-in (see Configure Projects) and can create new projects and edit or delete existing projects on the portal.

The VertiGIS projects, which are available on the ArcGIS Portal, are displayed to the GIS user on the start page (see Landing Page).

There are the following two possibilities for the definition of the ArcGIS portal on which the VertiGIS projects are stored and from which the projects are displayed on the start page:

•Configure a main portal
There is the possibility to define a main portal. In the case of this option, this portal is always set as the active portal and offered on the start page. For the configuration of the main portal, the following setting must currently be defined in the settings file C:\Users\Username\AppData\Roaming\AED-SICAD\Preferences\Unity.conf :

•Use the active portal in ArcGIS Pro
As an alternative to the main portal there is the possibility to use the active ArcGIS Pro portal for the configuration of VertiGIS projects as well as for their use by the GIS user via the start page. In ArcGIS Pro, the user can manually set the active ArcGIS Portal himself. This variant is used if the above described setting MainPortalURL is missing in the settings file. It should therefore be seen as a fallback if no main portal has been configured. How to set the active portal in case of the configuration add-in or while using the start page is described in the chapter Authentication.
