This topic outlines how to manually add, edit, and delete individual locking systems in VertiGIS FM. You can alternatively import your own internal record of locking systems into the VertiGIS FM database using a CSV or XML file. This option is ideal for adding, editing, or deleting large quantities of locking systems simultaneously (for example, to establish an initial record of your locking systems in the VertiGIS FM database).

Add a Locking System

You can add a locking system on the locking systems page or on the Key Management search page.

To Add a Locking System on the Locking Systems Page

1.Navigate to the Key Management legacy dashboard.

2.Under Actions, click Locking Systems.

3.Click the Add () icon.

4.Enter the locking system's details. At minimum, a Name property is required for the locking system.

5.Click Save or Save and Close.

To Add a Locking System on the Search Page

1.Navigate to the Key Management search page.

2.Under Objects, click Locking System.

3.Click the Add () icon.

4.Enter the locking system's details. At minimum, a Name property is required for the locking system.

5.Click Save or Save and Close.

Edit a Locking System

You can edit a locking system on the locking system details page.

To Edit a Locking System

1.Navigate to the details page for the locking system you want to edit.

2.Click the Edit () icon.

3.Edit the locking system's details as required.

4.Click Save or Save and Close.

Batch Edit Locking Systems

You can perform a batch edit on locking systems to edit the Name, Device Type, Manufacturer, Supplier, and Person Responsible properties of two or more locking systems in one action.

You can perform a batch edit on the Key Management search page.

To Batch Edit Multiple Locking Systems

1.Navigate to the Key Management search page.

2.Under Objects, click Locking System.

3.In the search grid, select the locking systems you want to edit and click the Edit Locking System () icon.

Press the ctrl key on a Windows keyboard to select items in the search grid that are not directly on top of or beneath each other.

4.For the property or properties whose values you want to batch edit, select the check box and select or enter the new value.

5.Click Apply to All. Affected locking systems are listed in the Adopted Elements section.

Delete a Locking System

You can delete a locking system on the locking systems page or on the Key Management search page.

To delete a locking system on the locking systems page, simply select the locking system you want to delete, click the Delete () icon, and then click OK.

To delete a locking system on the search page, under Objects, click Locking System. You can then select the locking system you want to delete, click the Delete () icon, and click OK.

You cannot delete a locking system that has central locks, group locks, or individual locks associated with it.
