The Execute external program Cron Job's purpose is to execute a command at a defined time from an external program. It does not interfere with the Esri mechanisms or Feature Services, it is just executing a command.
Example: Upon processing a version and making a synchronization between GIS and SAP, you would like to delete some data. If you have an external program for deleting data, you can use this Cron Job to execute it.
