Auxiliary points for creating features can be created via an orthogonal construction on objects, e.g. to measure pipe points or pipes at right angles to objects (e.g. a house facade).

Procedure

VNE_Bt_OrthogKonstrOrthogonal

1.Call function
Activate the function via the Construct > Orthogonal tab.

2.Create baseline
The baseline serves as an auxiliary line for creating an orthogonal construction. It is placed either freely or on an existing object (house facade, pipeline, etc.).
The Orthogonal tab appears on the left-hand side of the area with the instruction to set a start and end point on the map with a mouse click in order to define the baseline.
After double-clicking to exit, the length of the baseline calculated using the map is displayed. Optionally, you can enter a precisely measured length to generate the baseline.
The following functions are available via the action menu VN_Bt_ThreeDots:

The baseline is deleted and a new one can be created.

VN_Bt_Baseline_Change_Direction

Change baseline direction

As the positioning of the orthogonals is dependent on the capture direction, this can be changed via the action menu.

3.Construct new auxiliary point
Based on the generated baseline, the orthogonal construction is performed. The values measured in the field for abscissa and ordinate in relation to the baseline can be entered here to construct an auxiliary point.

The value of the abscissa can be positive or negative.

The snapping of objects can be activated via the "Edit > Snapping on" tab.

4.Create more ordinates
The button with the plus sign next to the input field can be used to enter the values for another ordinate.

5.Add auxiliary points
If one or more points generated via the rectangular construction correspond to the desired result, they can be added. These auxiliary points are saved in the layer > Construction points, shown in green.

The measurement system for the construction points must be selected in advance.
