Pipelines

For transportation and distribution, the organizations above are considered transportation (transmission/transportation company). For this reason, the models worked for both national and regional organizations.

Currently, three levels are planned for the representation of the networks:

Transport (TransmissionLine)

Distribution (DistributionLine)

Development (ServiceLine, InternalServiceLine)

The function is managed in an independent attribute. The reason lies in the different definitions and standards of different countries. Implementation will take place at a later date.

For the Water model there are different definitions which are used.

See Functions of Water Lines

Depending on the topography, water and gas are distributed in small to medium-sized service territories. In these, the pressure conditions can be very different (e.g. pre-alpine and alpine areas). At the same time, they are also isolated systems (islands) which have no connections with neighbors. The main reason is that water supply is generally a task of the municipalities in the DACH region. This is partly delegated to water boards or works. The most important difference between gas and water is the way it is distributed. This is hierarchical in the gas and is defined by the pressure (decreasing pressure in underlying networks).
