You can assign a location in the Buildings hierarchy to a VertiGIS FM Maintenance asset (like a device or vehicle) to document its current and past locations.
You can assign a location to an asset in the Locations section of the asset's page.
To Assign a Location to a Device
1.Navigate to the details page (for example, the device details page or vehicle details page) for the asset you want to assign to a location.
2.In the Location section, click the Assign Location (
) icon.

3.Click the arrow in the Location text box.

4.Select a location from the list of locations and click Apply.

You can filter the selectable locations by typing in the Filter, Number, Name, or State text boxes.
5.In the From field, click the calendar icon (
) and select the date the asset will be in the selected location. By default, today's date is entered.
6.Optionally, enter a comment in the Comment text box.
7.Click Save and close.
The Locations section now lists the asset's new location.

Device Location
Additional locations can be assigned as long as the From date does not conflict with the existing location's date. The existing location programmatically inherits a date in the Until column that is one day prior to the new location's From date.

Updated Device Location
You can repeat the location assignment procedure above to update the location assignment of a device that already has one, as long as the device
•has not already been counted during a stocktake.
•was not added to the system via CAD import.
To cancel a location assignment, select the location in the table and click the Clear Last Assignment (
) icon.
In the form that opens, you can set a date to end the location assignment in the Until box. When you click Save and Close, the date is indicated in the Until column.

Cancel Location Form
You cannot cancel the location of an asset that was imported into VertiGIS FM with a CAD file.
Delete a asset's current location assignment without assigning a new one by selecting it in the table and clicking the Delete (
) icon.
