Add, Edit, or Delete a Version

This topic includes procedures for adding, editing, and deleting versions in the Building Service Structure.

Add a Version

Because a version can be the child of either a group or a designation, you can create a new version on either a group details or designation details page.

To Add a Version

1.Navigate to the details page for the group or the designation under which you want to create the new version.

2.Expand the Types section and click the Add (icon-add) icon.

3.Enter an identification key for the designation in the Asset Identification Key text box.

4.Enter a name for the designation in the Name text box for the corresponding language.

5.Complete any of the optional fields, as applicable.

6.Click Save and Close.

Edit a Version's Details

A version can be edited from the version details page.

To Edit a Version's Details

1.Click the Edit (icon-edit) icon.

2.Edit the version's details as required.

The Extended Installing Structure value cannot be changed if  you have already added parts to the installing structure on the Version details page.

3.Click Save and Close.

Delete a Version

You can delete a version from the Types table on the designation's or group's detail page.

To Delete a Version

1.In the Types section, select the version you want to delete.

2.Click the Delete (icon-delete) icon and then click OK.

The version is removed from the Types table.

A version cannot be deleted if it has child devices associated with it.
