Network Editor

Prev Top Next More

After starting VertiGIS Solution Manager, the deployment of a Network Editor solution can be carried out.

Prerequisites

For the installation you need the ZIP file (Network Editor-<Version>.zip) of the Network Editor Solution Package, which will be provided to you by your local sales representative.

This ZIP file contains all the necessary components that are part of the functional scope of the Network Editor Solution Package (e.g. print templates).

The utility network data must be published as a feature service.

Requirements for the WebMap

The following requirements for the WebMap must be taken into account during installation:

The WebMap to be used must be configured in such a way that the following layers cannot be edited:

SubnetLines (information on this can be found on the Esri homepage)

Dirty Areas

The WebMap to be used must be published from ArcGIS Pro.

The Utility Network Layer Dirty Areas must be available as an stand-alone layer in the published Feature Service and the published WebMap with all attributes (objectid, isretired, status, sourceid, guid, errorcode, errormessage, creationdate, creator, lastupdate, updatedby, globalid, Shape__Area,Shape__Length).

No CIM symbols should be used.
When publishing a WebMap from ArcGIS Pro, it is important to select the option "Use symbol types compatible with all clients". Otherwise, CIM symbols are generated in the WebMap, which are not fully supported in the ArcGIS Maps SDK for JavaScript.

No dimension layer should be used
Currently, the ArcGIS Maps SDK for JavaScript does not support dimension layers for 2D maps. Attempting to use a WebMap that contains a dimension layer within VertiGIS Networks will therefore cause the application to load incorrectly.

Procedure

1.Launch VertiGIS Solution Manager
The Solution Manager is started via a link.
See the VertiGIS Solution Manager user manual, chapter Start Solution Manager.

2.Prepare data sources
See the VertiGIS Solution Manager user manual, chapter Manage Data Sources.

3.Perform Deployment
See the VertiGIS Solution Manager user manual, chapter Perform Deployment.

a.Enter parameter values:

Package name - Any individual name can be assigned.

VertiGIS Studio Web URL
VertiGIS Studio Web URL defined during VertiGIS Studio Web installation.
Example: https://<hostname.domain.com>/web

Enter specific Network Editor Parameter values
For the deployment of the Network Editor Solution, no further specific parameter values are necessary.

Attributes Form Schema Portal Item ID - Input of the GUID of the portal item, which contains the project-related schema for the attribute mask.

The "Attribute Form Schema Portal Item ID" parameter is optional. If the field is left empty, the attributes are displayed by default according to the definition in the feature service. The GUID could then also be entered subsequently via the Studio Web Designer. See also chapter "Edit Attributes" > developer documentation.

b.Validate deployment:

The Validate Topology function in the Network Editor requires the Dirty Areas layer in the Feature Service and the WebMap.

If this Utility Network Layer is missing, the Network Editor cannot be deployed and a corresponding error message is displayed.
The feature service or web map must be republished, including the Dirty Areas layer, and the deployment must be repeated in the Solution Manager.

After installation, an adjustment to the project-specific map basis MUST be made. To do this, first select the generated WebApp in the Studio Web Designer. Then select the "Map component", go to the "Map settings" section and click on the "Refresh" button. This ensures that the project-specific map basis is correctly integrated into the WebApp.
