A Device is an element that can influence the behavior of the transported media. This is the most important distinction to the Junctions. To further sharpen the term, an attempt was made to find a simple workable definition, which is currently defined as follows:
"An element in the network that leads to a change in the resource or its behavior."
In this context, the term resource (or media) is used to describe a transport material that retains its primary property.
The subnetwork controllers are also included in the Device. These influence the resource in its primary properties for the network (usually the physical ones, but chemical or biological ones are also conceivable).
