Utility Network

Prev Top Next More

The configuration of a network contains different parts that are joined together to form a subnetwork. The table contains only the most important elements and is highly simplified.

Term

Description

Tier

Tiers are groupings into classes, which is usually represented by size or importance.

Devices

See FeatureClass: Device

Subnetwork Controllers

Subnetwork controller control the network in the primary property (pressure, voltage, etc.)

Trace

Network query/tracing

Dirty Areas

Areas with topological problems (or areas not checked) that need to be cleaned up. These prevent the interrogation of networks (subnetwork formation and tracing).

Table of Terms

In general, network tracings can be performed when the topology is enabled. If the query falls into the range of Dirty Areas a corresponding message is returned and the process terminates.

A subnetwork definition is a specific network query that stores the result in the Utility Network. Again, when reaching Dirty Areas the formation is aborted with an error message.
