The schema connectors are used to connect the cable or conductor cable with the inner installation of a facility.
The ConnectionPoint is set in the installation/facility schema at the edge of the plant. They serve as a transition between the plant schema and the incoming/outgoing lines (see Transition From Line Construction to Facility Construction).
The reasons for their use so far (geom. network) were a complete network topology (edge-node-edge), easier editing (snapping) and tracing (trace) (schema connector = start facility schema).
