Afterstarting VertiGIS Solution Manager, the deployment of a Network Simulator solution can be carried out.

Prerequisites

For the installation you need the ZIP file (Network Simulator-<Version>.zip) of the Network SimulatorSolution Package, which will be provided to you by your local sales representative.

This ZIP file contains all the necessary components that are part of thefunctional scope of the Network Simulator Solution Package (e.g. print templates).

The utility network data must be published as afeature service.

Requirements for the Web Map

The following requirements for the web map must be taken into accountduring installation:

The planning layers must be available in the web map and published withall attributes (see chapter Data basis). They must be configured in such away that they cannot be edited.

VU_PLANNING

VU_PLANNING_CONSTR_PHASE

The WebMap to be used must be published from ArcGIS Pro.

CIM symbols should not be used.
When publishing a WebMap from ArcGIS Pro, it is important to select the option "Use symbol types compatible with all clients". Otherwise, CIM symbols are generated in the WebMap, which are not fully supported in the ArcGIS Maps SDK for JavaScript.

Procedure

1.Launch VertiGIS Solution Manager
The Solution Manager is startedvia a link.
See the VertiGIS Solution Manager user manual, chapter Start Solution Manager.

Ifyou are using Solution Manager for the first time with a Portal for ArcGIS, you need to change theregistration information of the VertiGIS Studio Printing item (see the VertiGIS Studio manual Register VertiGIS Studio Printing Using a New ArcGIS Item). In the"Registered Info" section you need to add the following Redirect URI"https://<SUBDOMAIN>.apps.vertigisstudio.com" and click "Add". Theaforementioned setting is sufficient for users with "administrator rights".

Ifusers with the "Publisher" portal permission should also execute the installation of theNetwork Solution, they must additionally be assigned to a group that in turn has access to theabove-mentioned portal item. This setting can be assigned via "Edit Group Sharing" forthis portal item VertiGIS Studio Printing.

Otherwise, the Solution cannot be installedbecause Solution Manager needs these permissions to provide print templates.

b.Validate deployment:

The Planning Manager function in the Network Simulator requiresthe VU_PLANNING and VU_PLANNING_CONSTR_PHASE layers to be included in the Feature Service and the Web Map.

If these layers are missing, the Network Simulator cannot be deployed anda corresponding error message is displayed.
The deployment must be canceled and the twolayers must first be added to the Feature Service and the web map in accordance with the Databasis section. The deployment can then be repeated with the Solution Manager.

The VertiGIS Studio Web Designer must be used to customize theproject-specific web map. See chapter Configuration > NetworkSolutions in General.

After installation, an adjustment tothe project-specific map basis MUST be made. To do this, first select the generated WebApp in theStudio Web Designer. Then select the "Map Component", go to the section "MapSettings" and click on the "Refresh" button". This ensures that theproject-specific map basis is correctly integrated into the WebApp.
