Dimensions are visual elements that measure and mark distances on your map to visualize lengths, distances,or sizes of objects. They help you understand the spatial relationships between features in your network.

Dimensions respect visibility settings and scale ranges defined in the Web Map.

If a web map does not contain a dimension layer, no dimensions will be displayed.

Working with Dimensions

Networks Explorer fully supports Esri dimensions and honors all configuration settings specified in ArcGIS Pro dimension styles.

The three types of dimensions are:

Aligned: Measures the true distance between the dimension start point and endpoint. The dimension line is drawn parallel to the invisible baseline (axis) defined by these points.

Line: Measures a straight-line distance between two points.

Orthogonal: Measures one or more perpendicular distances between a defined axis and a single structure or feature.

Starting with Networks Editor 1.11,dimension layers are automatically loaded from the web map, eliminating the need for a separate toggle button.
