Why are the Meters not in the Devices?

•A meter does not influence the network or only indirectly via a device. It is merely the statement that a measurement is being made at this point. What exactly is to be measured and what this measurement triggers for a possible reaction only becomes apparent through the control system used.

•The meter in a house may also contain an active component. In this context, we will certainly have to address the issue of smart meters, which can be controlled, at a later date. But even here it can be assumed that these elements (although they have an active component) will not fall into the category of devices, since they usually only control the end consumer and do not influence the subnetwork.

•The theme Meters/Device will be considered in more detail in the next revision of the data models.
