Groundwater Measure Point / Monitoring well / Observation well
A groundwater monitoring well is a specially constructed borehole used to observe the condition of groundwater. It typically consists of a pipe that reaches down into the aquifer and has screened sections at the bottom. Through this well, groundwater levels can be measured and water samples can be taken. This makes it possible to detect changes in the quantity and quality of groundwater at an early stage. Such monitoring wells are important for protecting drinking water supplies and the environment.
