Groundwater measuring point / observation well / monitoring well / measuring well
A groundwater measuring point is a specially constructed borehole used to monitor the condition of the groundwater. It usually consists of a pipe that extends down to the aquifer and has filter areas at the bottom. This measuring point can be used to measure groundwater levels and take water samples. This allows changes in the quantity and quality of the groundwater to be detected at an early stage. Such measuring points are important for protecting the drinking water supply and the environment.
The groundwater measuring point is not connected to the water network and is therefore not part of the utility network.
