Overhead line

Represents the course between the support structures. The conductors are then assigned to the course. As a rule, the course corresponds to that of the ground wire.

Utility trench

The earthwork (excavation) for laying the pipeline(s) is referred to as pipeline trenching (open trench method). It does not matter how the lines are laid.

Not used with trenchless methods (e.g. ploughing in).

Culvert / media duct / route section in buildings

The culvert is an under-crossing line and is often found in connection with watercourse crossings or dams. Culverts can contain one or more lines. In the field of drainage, the culvert is usually equated with the sewer.

The media channel is an underground structure used by several media for supply and disposal. A media channel is usually accessible.

Route section through buildings: These are not internal lines, but supply and disposal lines of a public nature that are laid in buildings and are accessible.

Tube bundle, tube block

The route section is a homogeneous section which is constant from beginning to end. Also referred to as a tube bundle or tube block.

Protective tube

The primary purpose of the protective tubes is to protect against external influences (mechanical and moisture). At the same time, empty tubes can also create capacity for later expansion (without new earthworks).

In addition to protective tubes, there are other historical profiles and construction methods (e.g. Z-profiles, endstone, runner brick, half-shell).

The protective tube itself can also be installed in a protective tube (often in the field of electricity and telco).
