The current version 1.1 allows viewing of geometry and topology object types in a utility network, and gives an impression of how a future VertiGIS utility solution based on Esri's Utility Network will look like. The Electricity network can be collected and processed topologically. The representation is tailored to collection and editing and eases the visualization. The classification of AssetGroups/AssetTypes is generic and can therefore be used throughout Europe. For a more detailed classification, more attributes and functions will be deployed in upcoming releases. A data transfer can be prepared as part of a project or services in order to be able to define measures for topological cleansing. There will be model changes that will be provided with the next releases. These can not be updated fully automatically, and the data is not to be updated fully automatically. The adjustments to the data model as well as to the data and configurations related to the model will require manual rework. |
This version is intended for the following target groups: •Professionally interested persons who would like to get a first impression of the VertiGIS Network data models. •Customers who want to review their requirements and provide expert feedback. •Customers who want to use the data models in the framework of projects accompanied by VertiGIS. |
The basic configuration is currently limited to the most important network attributes and a few general information. The coded domains are reduced to a minimum and have no dependencies on each other. The following prefixes were used in the tables: •NET_ Network attributes •SYM_ Symbolization (currently only symbol rotation is supported) In the current version, the structural network is not configured and offers no relationships with the domain networks. The FAQ for the Subnetwork Controller contain important information and notes on use. |

•The editing options of the data are limited. •Control cables, fiber optics or other communication cables are not modeled. The same applies to DC network objects and cathodic corrosion protection. •There is a tier and subnetwork definition so that the Utility Network can be activated. These tier and subnetwork definitions are not complete for the domain network Electricity. Therefore, it is not possible to perform a network tracing, as this requires a subnetwork definition. •The diagrams have not yet been defined. •Only objects that are part of the utility network are modeled. Thus, there are no dimensions, labels or objects that do not directly participate in the network. •The attributes are not complete. To avoid data loss from an existing GIS during a data transfer, the model may need to be supplemented with attributes and/or additional feature classes. •The topology and scaling of station interiors also needs to be included. •Tools for data transfer are not part of the data models. |
