Fixed point / bearing point / fixed point
In district heating, the bearing points are relevant for calculating expansion in connection with thermal influences.
A fixed point is a point on the pipeline where no movement is possible due to thermal expansion. A natural fixed point occurs where the frictional forces of the ground prevent the pipe from moving. However, a fixed point can also be created by installing a fixed bearing. Various types of bearings are used:
Guide bearings only allow movement in defined directions.
Fixed bearings fix the pipeline in all directions.
Sliding bearings serve to absorb the weight and frictional forces.
