Fiber Network Interface Devices (NIDs) are typically found at the edge of a fiber network, where the service provider's infrastructure connects to the customer's premises. They're a key component in Fiber to the Premises (FTTP) or Fiber to the Home (FTTH) deployments. They may serve from one to multiple customer drops. They may also be referred to as an Optical Network Terminal (ONT). Typically server a single customer.
