This section describes the aspects of modeling such that the utility network itself functions and the utility network data of VertiGIS Networks’ applications, VertiGIS Studio and Esri apps can be used.  

In principle, customization or extension of the utility network model’s core is not recommended. The components of a utility network configuration are complex, interconnected and complex to define. They have a big impact on functionality. Adjustments to the utility network core model require a system shutdown.  

There can only be one utility network per database or database schema. This utility network can administer one or more domain networks.
